Just before 2am Friday, officers responded to the 800 block of Lee Street regarding a shooting victim.
Upon arrival officers located two men and a woman huddled around another girl who was laying on the ground.
Officers discovered that the 15-year-old girl on the ground appeared to be suffering a gunshot wound.
She had no pulse and wasn't breathing.
Rockford Fire arrived on scene and pronounced the girl deceased.
While speaking to the other three people, a 19-year-old man advised he had also be shot in the leg.
He was taken to a local hospital where he's being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses told police that unknown individuals fired upon the group from a moving dark gray or black minivan.
Rockford Police Detectives are investigating this case and interviewing several people.
