With not as many people "lovin' it" these days, McDonald's will kick off a new campaign Sunday during the Super Bowl to let random customers pay with "lovin'."
The campaign comes as the iconic, Oakbrook-based company just replaced it's CEO and eliminated 100 corporate jobs in a restructuring move.
“Desperate times require desperate measures,” said advertising executive and DePaul University lecturer Ken Krimstein after watching the 60 second spot, which will air during the Super Bowl
We asked Krimstein to assess the McDonald's ad.
“They're telling people on the Super Bowl that they are giving away food for love and I thought, fairly bold,” he said.
Krimstein said McDonald's is trying to show its humanity and help customers revive an old connection that many have lost as eating habits have changed towards morehealthy foods.
