White Woman, 25, sexually assaulted in Wicker Park neighborhood by Feral Male Black

A white woman was approached from behind and sexually assaulted early Monday morning in the city's Wicker Park neighborhood by a male black, police said.

Shortly before 2 a.m., a 25-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk in the 1700 block of West Pierce Avenue when she was approached from behind, said Chicago Police Department spokesman Veejay Zala.

The Negro attacker threw her to the ground and sexually assaulted her near an alley, Zala said. The attacker fled the scene when the woman cried out for help. A description of the attacker was not being released by police.

The woman was taken to St. Mary's Hospital, where her condition was stabilized, he said.

Detectives were investigating.
