Chicago Police release pic of SUV that hit, seriously injured crossing guard

The elite criminal lab of the Chicago police department could not spend the extra $2.59 to enlarge this photo of the wanted vehicle.
Police have released a photo of an SUV that sped off after hitting and seriously injuring a school crossing guard on the Far South Side last week.
Shortly before 4 p.m. Jan. 12, a 27-year-old woman working as a crossing guard at the intersection of 127th Street and Union in West Pullman was hit by an SUV traveling “at a high rate of speed,” according to an alert from police.
Children were crossing the street when the crossing guard was hit, police said. The driver fled the scene without stopping to help to the woman.
The vehicle that hit the woman was described as a black or dark-colored SUV that was last seen heading west on 127th Street and then north on Emerald, police said.
Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call detectives at (312) 745-4521.
