Police: Replica machine gun used in attempted armed robbery in Fox Lake, IL by Rashon Jackson & a 16 year old colored juvenile

A 25-year-old man and a 16-year-old juvenile allegedly used a replica machine gun in an attempt to rob a gas station convenience store in Fox Lake on Wednesday, police said.

Rashon Jackson, 25, of the 2000 block of North Stratford in Round Lake Beach, was in court Thursday facing charges of aggravated armed robbery. He was ordered held in Lake County jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.

A 16-year-old was also taken into custody and named in a juvenile petition through the Depke Juvenile Justice System, where charges are being reviewed for aggravated armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting a police officer.

According to Fox Lake Police Lt. Mark Schindler, the attempted robbery occurred about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox Lake Mobile Gas Station, 500 Rollins Road.
